Rowan plays dress-up

I'm most impressed with his ability to choose shoes that perfectly match the rest of his ensemble.*

And he does seem to be enjoying himself.

Although he may have had one too many shots of the ol' boob juice.

Nice recover.

*And yes, these are the photos I plan on showing his first date.

What porn stars do after they retire

"Isn't that for techno-geeks, with spreadsheets?"

Digital De-tox

My favourite thing about digital cameras is the ability to instantly look at the picture you've just captured and decide if it is worthy of saving or, in most cases, instantly deleted. Gone are the days of developing film only to discover that out of 24 pictures only four are decent and your eyes were closed in two of them.

However, this great technology serves to enable the procrastinators of the world. I think of all the times have I gone to take a picture, only to discover the memory card full and be forced with the choice of which old memory to delete in order to preserve the next. I have even purchased new memory cards to avoid having to upload the hundreds of photos to my computer- because the perfectionist in me cannot simply save all the pictures in the same jumbled file. No, they must be sorted, and labeled, with the lighting balanced and all red eyes removed. So it is a constant struggle between the perfectionist and the procrastinator.

Happily, I was finally able to strike a sort of balance between these two character flaws. Photos have been unceremoniously dumped in one folder labeled "Sort these pics!!" and are slowly being edited and transfered to their appropriate locations. Over the next few days be prepared for a crazy assortment of photos from the last year. And don't be surprised if you finally get that Christmas card in the mail- I found the perfect picture for the cover.

What's New

Once again I am the negligent blogger. Oops.

So, here's what's new:

I have no phone.
My phone has been acting funny as of late, and had taken to dying suddenly (most often while talking to my sis Abi) even after having been charged all night. Turns out my charger is completely corroded and will no longer transmit any power to my phone. No charge= no phone= no contact with the outside world. Ugh. Supposedly we have an old one lying around the house, but I have yet to find it.

I have no laptop.
Another power supply malfunction. Not even Charles' computer geek witchery can bring this one back from the dead. The battery had been shot for a while, but it would still work as long as it was plugged in. Now it's not even registering the power supply, and I watched it take it's final breath last night. Luckily I store everything of value (pics, music, patterns) on our desk top, but my laptop was the only one to run virtual Windows, and now I can't watch The Office on Hulu. *pout*
Andy, Noah, I will be sending you the body to use as you see fit.

But on to bigger and better things...

I am going to Florida!!
Charles has a conference in Orlando and his boss said I should go with him *on the company dime*! They've paid for my flight, given us a hotel room to ourselves, and are trusting my skillful wenching ways to ingratiate myself into the many luncheons and dinners so I can eat while I'm there. We've reserved a rental car and I am busy mapping out the different beaches I want to explore. I promised the older boys that we wouldn't do anything fun (ie Disney) without them. I've gone 26 years without riding the teacups, so a few more won't kill me!

I have a new tattoo...
"Life, for eternal us, is now;"

Inked by the fine folks at Tuff Luck tattoos in Carbondale. This is just the first installment of my back art. Someday there will be more. Bonus points if you can tell me the rest of the quote ;)

It is finally spring in Michigan.
It is becoming a beautiful place to live (finally). We have plans to visit the many state parks this summer, as well as go to Canada and the U.P. We all love camping and the boys are old enough to sleep in a tent all night without freaking out. Ro is still young enough to not care where he rests his head as long as it's next to my breast. It will be great to enjoy the summer without dying from the humidity.

And I just made brownies.
Raspberry Cheesecake Brownies to be precise. You can find the recipe here. It is my *favourite* baking blog and I go to it for all my dessert needs.

Here's the baby!
The boys like to set up the enrollment maps Charles makes as little villages.

The cheerios are the villagers. Ro is the giant monster.

Somehow wearing a red cape makes him more ferocious, at least according to his brothers.
